Choosing GITEX 2026 hotels starts with the new venue, not the familiar Dubai skyline. For the first time, the event takes place at Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC) in Expo City Dubai, not at Dubai World Trade Centre. If you attended GITEX before, your usual hotel choice may no longer be the practical one. This guide explains where to stay, how long the drive is from each group of hotels, and how to get to the halls.

The key decision: drive time, not star rating
The official GITEX hotel list includes more than 50 hotels. Their drive times to the venue range from about 10 minutes to more than 35 minutes (drive times as shown on the official hotel page). Expo City is in the south-west of Dubai. Downtown and Business Bay hotels are a much longer ride than they were when GITEX was held at the World Trade Centre.
A simple rule works for most visitors:
- Exhibitors and early stand set-up: stay in the 10–15 minute group. Early mornings and late teardown days are easier.
- Visitors with meetings across the city: the 15–20 minute group gives a good balance of drive time and restaurants nearby.
- Visitors who also want Downtown evenings: the 25–30 minute group works, but plan for longer rides at peak hours.

*Drive times and room counts are taken from the official GITEX hotel page (HotelMap) on 1 October 2026. Real travel time during the event can be longer at peak hours.
Getting to the venue
- Metro: Dubai Exhibition Centre names Expo 2020 station as its metro stop. The station is the last stop on the Route 2020 branch of the Red Line. If you plan to use the metro every day, choose a hotel within walking distance of a Red Line station.
- Taxi and ride-hailing: available at the venue, according to Dubai Exhibition Centre.
- Car: the venue has visitor parking.
- Bus: Expo City Dubai has an RTA public bus stop.
For GITEX 2025 at Dubai World Trade Centre, RTA promoted public transport, park-and-ride and free shuttles inside the venue. Transport arrangements for the 2026 edition at Dubai Exhibition Centre had not been announced when this guide was checked. We will update this section when they are published.
Booking tips for GITEX week
- Use the right dates. Exhibitors often need the night before the expo opens. The summit is on 7 December and the expo runs 8–11 December.
- Compare the cancellation policy, not only the price. Meeting plans change. A slightly higher refundable rate can be the safer choice.
- Check breakfast time. If you need to be at the halls early, ask whether breakfast starts early enough.
- Group of 9+ rooms? The official portal offers group rates for 9 or more rooms.

Choose dates around the sessions you will attend. For the 7 December Summit, arriving on 6 December avoids a same-morning arrival. If you will attend the final Expo day on 11 December, consider checking out on 12 December. The existing 7–11 December links below are a shorter stay, not coverage of every event session.
